Edimar Cordeiro

Brazil is the largest country in South America and the fifth largest country in the world. It is slightly smaller than the U.S.A. and is divided into 27 states. With a population of 200,000,000, Brazil shares borders with every country in South America except for Ecuador and Chile. The Amazon River system flows through this country of forestlands and mountains, and the Amazonian rainforest covers a billion acres. Brazil is the only Portuguese-speaking country in South America.

Reverend L. M. and Beverly Reese went to Brazil as missionaries in the early 1970s. The first Congregational Holiness Church was opened in 1972, and in 1976 was legally registered as a denomination in Brazil. It started with only five churches and several missions.
